DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in mechanical,

electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic building equipment maintenance and repair; installs,

maintains, and repairs such equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer's

specifications, service manuals, drawings and sketches; records preventive maintenance data

for a variety of equipment in accordance with written procedures and schedules for all

structures in Southern Unit of Illinois Beach.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Requires education and experience equivalent to high school and two year's maintenance or

farming experience preferably with the building trades and/or the operation of heavy equipment

and machinery; requires ability to obtain a pesticide operator's license; requires possession of a

Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes; requires ability to follow written and oral

instructions; requires ability to withstand exposure to the elements on a year round basis;

requires physical ability to operate and maintain tools, equipment and materials utilized in the

maintenance, repair and care of site resources, buildings and grounds. Requires ability to lift,

carry and transport loads which exceed sixty pounds; requires ability to walk over rough and

broken terrain.

This position requires possession of a valid Class 'B' Illinois Commercial Driver's

License with Air Brakes designation. The employee/applicant shall provide proof of

possession of the valid Class 'B' Illinois Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes designation

at the time the bid is submitted in order to be considered qualified and eligible for the position.

If the eligible bidder selected for this position has not previously held a position requiring a

Commercial Driver's License, he/she must pass a pre-employment drug test which will be

scheduled by the Department. If the eligible bidder is unable to pass such test, he/she will not

be considered qualified or eligible for the position.

Anticipated Starting Salary: $3396-$3704

Current bargaining unit employees: CBA language applies

Full Bargaining Unit Range: $3396-$4826 per month

Friday-Tuesday, 12:00 am to 8:00 am, 1/2-hour lunch, Wednesday & Thursday off
