ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D- Grayslake, is inviting local religious leaders to Springfield to provide the invocation before the Illinois House of Representatives.

“After a very divisive election season nationally and locally, it is important to bring people of all faiths together as we continue our work to make our communities safer, stronger and more prosperous,” Yingling said. “Leading the invocation on the House floor is a time honored tradition that helps unite lawmakers and broadens our understanding about different peoples’ faiths and beliefs. I humbly invite local clergy of all religions represented here the 62nd District to contact my office if they are interested in leading the opening prayer.”

Each session day, a clergy member offers a short invocation to bless the Legislature as they do the people’s work. Invocation dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and there is very limited availability. Religious leaders interested in this opportunity or who have questions, are encouraged to call Yingling’s office at (847)231-6262

Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
